Spring

MARCH. Sounds so much more like Spring than January or February eh? But here in the rockies we've surely got at least 2 blizzards coming. But lets focus on the positive.

It's been a slow year for the housing industry, nobody is arguing that, but smart homeowners aren't just hunkering down waiting for their homes to depreciate. They are being proactive, improving, and enjoying their homes as well.

In recent months we've been involved with some fun projects. As many of you know I just won't shut up about Tadelakt. This lime plaster from Morocco is very cool. It is used in North Africa and parts of Europe to line bathrooms, powder rooms, kitchens and the colors are beautiful. It's unlike many other plasters in that it is hydrophobic (it is unaffected by water). I've included a photo here to the left from a commercial job for you to see.

This week we are working on a ceiling in the Denver area. The ceiling will be getting a shiny metallic venetian plaster effect and then all the criss-crossed wood work above is getting a nice off white basecoat and brushed glaze, very subtle but classy. Will post some photos when it's done.

All the best!
